2. Page Elements:
Make sure you use page elements properly in the content of every article. Page elements are title, sub title, paragraphs, bold, italic and underline. Break the content using these elements properly to create a well arranged content.
3. Keyword Density:
Don’t think about keyword density at all while writing content. Just write naturally including the required information. Always write unique articles and try to include as much quality as you can. Also check the keyword density and keep it under 5%.
4. Permalink or URL:
Permalink or URL of every article should also be optimized to get your blog to good rank. Permalink should consist of words rather than combination of symbols and characters generated by programming languages. Also keep the number of words in permalink in between 2-5 words.
5. Article Length:
This is very important, try to write quality articles and keep the length in between 250-700 words. If the article is small then re-write it and include few more related and important information and if the article is very large then try to make it short or break it into pages.
6. Images & Videos:
“Images can speak thousand of words.” Do use of this universal fact in your blog’s every article. Insert related images and keep it unique if you can. Images also increase the user’s interest. Also embed the related videos wherever you feel necessary.
7. Internal Linking
Internal linking can really boost your ranking if you are following all above mentioned things. Try to link articles (already published) of your website which is related to current article (which you are going to publish). You can also link to other blogs but make sure that blog has really high quality information with no malwares and spam.
8. What Not to Do
So, now you know what all are the things you need to do to optimize every article of your blog. Like these factors, you should also keep in mind all the factors which you should not follow as they can harm the reputation and rankings of your blog. These are the things from which you should always stay away.
9. Keyword Stuffing
As I already told you, don’t think about keywords while writing articles. Just concentrate on the quality of the article. Don’t try to put more and more keywords (this technique is known as Keyword Stuffing and it is banned) as it may result in decreasing of your reputation and rank.
10. Linking to Low Quality Sites
While linking to other websites or blog, always check the quality of that website or blog. It should be having at least good quality information. It will be better if you try to link to blogs with PageRank (More than 2). But if you want to link to a low quality blog then you must use “nofollow” attribute in that link.
11. Very Short or Very Long Title
While writing title for article keep in mind that there should be maximum 80 characters in the title (including space). Also don’t go for very short title (less than 3-4 words).
12. Hidden Text
Don’t try to add any hidden text to get any traffic boost. These practices have been seriously banned by Google and using it will result in punishing your blog by Google. So just concentrate on writing high quality article with no hidden text or links.
13. Duplicate Content
Always write unique content in your own words. If you are not good at writing content then you can hire someone who can write for you. Also check that the article you are going to be publish is not yet published (same to same) on any other blog.
14. Lots of Advertisement
Monetizing your blog with advertisement banners is a good practice for earning money but it can harm your rank when you go far on that. Try to keep the number of banners to maximum 4-5. Google recommends only 3 advertisements on a page. So don’t go beyond the scope as it hurts the interest of visitors.
Final Words
Make sure you use all the Do’s and stay away from Don’ts to be on a good rank. These days search engines are really smart to calculate the quality of the information so just stick to that.
